A wool blend carpet is crafted from a combination of wool and other compatible fibers, either natural or synthetic. The most common combinations include wool and sisal, nylon, polypropylene, polyester or poly silk, or TENCEL. There are a number of reasons to choose a wool blend carpet over a 100% wool option, including intriguing colors, textural variance, and improved durability.

Wool and Sisal Carpet

A blend of wool and sisal brings a variety of pleasing attributes to your floors. The interplay of sisal and wool fibers and their natural colors produce visually appealing and textured carpets that can be installed wall-to-wall. Hollywood and Gibraltar are vibrant examples of the pattern play between sisal and wool.

Both wool and sisal are non-toxic natural fibers that positively impact indoor air quality, provide thermal insulation, and biodegrade when the time comes. The durability of these fibers means a wool-sisal blend carpet won’t compress with heavy traffic or furniture, resulting in a wall-to-wall carpet that will look great for years to come.

Wool and Nylon Carpet

Nylon is the synthetic material of choice for high-traffic settings, and when blended with beautiful wool, the resulting wool blend carpet is appropriate for a commercial or a residential setting. Nylon further improves wool’s resilience and durability and creates a stain-fighting combination: wool is naturally stain-resistant and nylon is inherently stain-resistant.

For a refined look, a tight flatly woven blend like Rugby or tretford® Roll complements interior styles of all kinds and carries contract grade ratings. For the home, our Elliot flat weave boosts a sophisticated herringbone pattern for a classic look, and Kells is a handloomed loop pile wool and nylon carpet that adds coziness to any room.

All our carpets come with care and cleaning guidelines that are accessible under the Care tab on each weave page. Furthermore, our Cleaning and Care Guides page offers suggestions to help keep your carpet looking clean and stain removal tips.

We always suggest removing shoes before entering a home and regular vacuuming. The best line of defense is preventing and removing dirt and debris before it gets embedded into the carpet. Lastly, we recommend professional cleaning service every year or two.
